About Me

Hi, I’m Laura Vicaria, circular fashion expert. In the world of sustainability, there are many directions. I started this consultancy with the objective to be purposeful with my skills and energy and thus focus on a single direction; circularity.

My mission is to support all value chain partners, be it collectors, sorters, recyclers, manufacturers, or brands to transition into a circular economy.

Over the years I have gained unique knowledge and experience in the implementation of circular solutions in fashion. Some examples include;

Developing circularity and sourcing strategies for brands at scale

Driving and piloting reverse supply chain logistics and recycling projects with EMEA value chain partners

Guided and supported the implementation of circular design, circular denim collections, take-back system, and impact reporting.

This experience has given me confidence in the value of circularity in fashion.

‘Rethink Fashion’ aims to facilitate a mindset shift from linear to circular thinking. It is a lens with which to look at the fashion industry in order to reimage, rebuild, and transform it.

Publications

In December 2023 I self-published my first children's book on circularity. ‘The Dancing Frog with Blue Jeans’ is a beautiful story about a boy frog that loves to dance. One day he has a dream about a magical pair of jeans and thus sets off on an adventure to make them. Through his journey, he learns how to make his jeans with love, the value of materials, the importance of taking care of them, and how to mend and share them. Most importantly he learns that all things are crafted by nature and should forever return to it.

All of these learnings form part of key circularity principles. Through this story, the mission is to show in a very simple way, how we can all participate in the sustainable and circular future of our clothes and beyond.

This book represents my approach to circularity; focused on creating a cultural shift and a positive association to circular fashion.
